Pink stands for EAster!

Yes, even at this time of the year I can find pink---this time in form of a bunny rabbit. Recently I went through my many bags of stuffed animals and decided it was time to donate. So, I made 3 piles---1. donate---2. sell--3. keep. Well, needless to say my keep pile outweighed the sell and donate pile! I did manage to get one box ready to donate to the ronald macdonald house and I got one pile of beenie babies ready to sell on e-bay. Except, I simply could not part ways with my beenie baby bears and rabbits, they are simply too cute!

Happy Pink Saturday Everyone!

Cake plates!

Not only do I bake cakes, but I have devolped an obession for cake plates...oh oh more to store away!

This is one of my favorites-a Christmas gift from my family a few years ago. Such pretty shoes!

This is a self made one, and the idea came from blog  http://www.recyclart.org/2012/03/cake-stands/. Marchel shared the link with me and ever since I saw that my mind is full of ideas for future cake platters!

This one I found on a recent shopping trip to Poland. Just could not pass it up! Do you see the little butterfly? My thought was to bake and decorate a cake to match this platter

And then a small one under glass--just enough room for one cupcake!

Easter and bright colors!

In the past few months, I have been slightly behind in my holiday tablescapes.....and now... I am early. This past week I had a few moments and thanks to my friend Jeanne a tablescape was born. It all started when Jeanne gave me the idea for the centerpiece. What you see in the first picture is actually what I normally use for my Christmas Advent Candles, as I am sure you have seen before in my posts. So, I put away the christmas candles, the christmas green and the red ornaments and brought out the easter grass, the easter eggs and the easter chocolate and the mulit colored candles and volia.......

The yellow charger plates come from IKEA---a great steal at an euro a piece!

My flower bowls come from Mary!

This easter egg was painted by me when I was a girl scout, long long ago!

So was that brown bunny!

Aren´t these the cutest?

Have a wonderful Thursday Everyone-- be sure to stop by Between Naps on the Porch for more wonderful tablescapes.

Hamburg and Family

A day in Hamburg!

Last Saturday, my family and I drove from Berlin to another great german city---Hamburg. My niece Heidi lives there as does my nephew Niki. It was Heidi´s 30 birthday and that was reason enough to go visit and celebrate with her. It had been over 15 years since I had last been in Hamburg--wow has the city changed. And yes Berlin has cool stores, but here I found so many really cool stores that I need to go back soon!

a store just with spices.......ah next time I will take some home with me!

oh oh---a chef and baker´s dream store--and this one loaded with wilton supplies!!!! Now how is it, that my bag is not even bigger!!LOL----wait for the post on all the goodies I bought. We were sooo busy shopping, that I did not have a chance to take any pictures while in the store....next time!

a giant spider-----too cool
Will write a seperate post just about her!

Heidi turns 30! This was the main reason for spending the day in Hamburg!

We got everyone together. My sister, my nieces and nephew with partner, my brother in laws......How cool is that?

It is beginning to look a lot like spring!

Spring is in the air here in Germany---and even though we had a mild winter, everyone here is sooo ready for warmer days. Time to fire up that grill, sharpen those blades on the lawn mower and and and....... YEA! Can you tell I am excited? We have been working hard get I can start the planting of the flower boxes and move out all the plants. But for now I will be happy that I have come this far and I will most certainly enjoy it.

Will has made himself comfortable!

For now it is still our fire pit.....hopefully in May we can set up the pool.

See....my new compost bins? Money well spent!

Even the hostas are coming out of the winter hibernation!
